Here is a little anchor chart about text structures that you can download for free from this post. It includes definitions and an example for each of five text structures:
- Chronological Order
- Cause and Effect
- Problem and Solution
- Compare and Contrast
- Description
The chart is a one-page size that might come in handy for a spare corner of the room, or for a wall near students who would benefit from having a nearby reminder of just what each structure is or an example of each structure. It could also be useful as a note page for students’ language arts or reading notebooks.
