This Autumn Sampler is my freebie of the season. It’s a set of three autumn-themed activity sheets with a little bit of reading, writing, and vocabulary practice on each one. I call it a “sampler” since each activity is one little part from one of my larger resources, and this week just seemed like a good time to post some details – with “back to school” pretty much over and autumn nearly here.
Each activity sheet has a short reading passage with either several questions or a follow-up activity. Three three passages are about a corn maze, a cornucopia, and the Jamestown colonial settlement. The first two include questions, and the Jamestown passage has a follow-up summarizing activity that focuses on the passage’s text structure.
The other short activities on each page are either an editing or a proofreading assignment and a vocabulary question. I’ve included clip art on each page that should appeal to upper elementary and middle school kids, and of course there’s an answer key.
